Common Questions
-
Every journey is different. From application through matching, screening, legal agreements, embryo transfer, pregnancy, and postpartum support, the complete process may take approximately 15-24 months. Timing depends on matching, clinic requirements, legal preparation, and individual circumstances.
-
Matches are thoughtfully considered based on shared expectations, preferences, communication styles, values, and journey goals. Both the surrogate and intended parents receive information, have an opportunity to connect, and must mutually agree before moving forward.
-
Formal medical and psychological clearance is completed by the fertility clinic and licensed professionals. Each party is represented by an independent attorney who handles the legal agreement. BTJ helps coordinate these steps but does not make medical, psychological, or legal determinations.
-
You will have a consistent BTJ point of contact throughout your journey. Support may include application guidance, preliminary records coordination, matching assistance, communication support, appointment and milestone check-ins, benefit and expense guidance, and preparation for birth and postpartum recovery. Independent professionals remain responsible for medical, psychological, legal, insurance, and escrow services.
